” What do we do if it rains?!”
I would say I get this question about, I don’t know, twice a day! Understandable though. Kauai is considering to be the wettest place on earth. Mount Waiʻaleʻale averages more than 452 inches per year!
As wedding professionals on this island, it is an issue we deal with every day. One of my biggest pieces of advice would be to NOT look at the weather forecast. Weather forecasts for Kauai are not typically accurate. There are so many micro-clients on Kauai that the national weather forecasting systems do not accurately predict how the weather will be here unless there is a tropical storm or hurricane. I suggest checking out our Kauai Web Cams for the most accurate current weather!
Back to your wedding day though! IF it does rain on your wedding day, don’t worry! We will have you covered (literally!). Our on-site coordinators always carry umbrellas in case of a little sprinkle, which is typical. We also have covered locations available to us if needed. Please keep in mind that over the past 5 years that less than 1% of our weddings are actually affected by the rain.
In Hawaii it is considered good luck and a good omen if it does rain during your wedding day, so keep this in mind if there is an early morning sprinkle.
